What Will You Learn
The course will cover:
- Speaking, listening and communication – making contributions to discussions in a range of contexts, including those that are unfamiliar, and make effective presentations
- Reading – Select, read, understand and compare texts and use them to gather information, ideas, arguments and opinions
- Writing – range of texts including extended written documents, communicating information, ideas and opinions, effectively and persuasively
Learning Methods
You will be taught through classroom sessions, practical activities, group activities. If you are completing this qualification as part of your apprenticeship, this will be included in your 1 to 1 sessions.

This qualification will give you the confidence and skills to work effectively and independently, thereby improving your employability and career opportunities.
Entry Requirements
You need to have been a resident in the UK, EU or EEA for the past 3 years and should be at least 16 years old. To enrol on the course at this level you must not hold an equivalent or higher qualification.
Assessment Methods
The course will be assessed via online assessments.
Progression Opportunities
After successfully completing the course you can progress onto a GCSE in English or other related qualifications.
