Qualification Purpose

The TQUK Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF) is suitable for learners working in a wide range of roles in a health and social care setting. The qualification develops competence therefore learners must be in paid or voluntary work to enable assessment to take place. It forms the competence component of the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care. The qualification consists of mandatory units, which introduce a range of topics including role of the health and social care worker, communication, personal development, equality and inclusion, duty of care, safeguarding, health and safety, information handling and person centred working. Learners can then select one of three pathways so that the qualification is tailored to meet the needs of their job role/work setting. The purpose of the qualification is to support a role in the workplace and to enable learners to progress to a higher level qualification in the same subject area.

TQUK Level 2 Award in Employment Responsibilities and Rights in Health, Social Care or Children and Young People’s Settings provides learners with knowledge and understanding of the statutory responsibilities and rights of employees and employers within own area of work agreed ways of working that protect own relationship with employer, how own role fits within the wider context of the sector, career pathways available within own and related sectors. Understand how issues of public concern may affect the image and delivery of services in the sector.
